Another Reason

This is reason number 734,618 why I love my husband.

He had spent the day at his desk working on a project bid.  This is no small task, and it takes days of meetings, multiple phone calls, various sets of plans, and several trips to the site just to get started on a bid.  Then there are the hours and hours of putting the numbers to all the facets of job.  The final number must be quite specific.  Low enough that the customer can afford it and will select us to do their work, but high enough that everyone will get paid and we won’t lose our shirts.

So I came in to our home office after working in the yard this afternoon.  I needed a water break, and I also needed to write something for my weekly newspaper column.  I usually have all kinds of things floating around in my brain to write about, but this week I was still waiting on something to come to me.

He gets up from his desk telling me that he’s going to go look at this project site one more time just to walk around and make sure he’s not missing anything.  I smile at him from my desk and tell him that I’m headed back out to work in the yard as soon as I get something written for the paper because my deadline is tomorrow.

Oh my goodness!  You should have seen the look in his eyes… kind of looked like sympathy… telling me he doesn’t know how I do that… how he would just freak out if he had to have something ready for the newspaper every week.

Oh Gary!  You make me laugh!  My little “job” is so easy.  Just try to give everyone a little something to ponder and smile about.  It’s a piece of cake.  But you are a true sweetheart to act like it’s something major.

Isn’t it just grand of God that he led one true sweetheart to marry another true sweetheart–knowing both would then bless SO MANY lives in SO MANY ways?! (I know I’m speaking for all who know you two.)

You are both amazing people! Kelsey was so impressed last night at supper when I explained to her that I was your aunt. We were talking about Uncle Michael and Uncle Robbie and we couldn’t think of any aunts to bring into the conversation! Were your ears burning? ha
