Buttermilk Ice Cream

I’ve made my first batch of the season.  If you’re new to my weblog, you may not realize that I absolutely love home-made ice cream.  And I love experimenting with flavors.

This was my favorite last summer, and although I’ve already shared this recipe, it’s a bit hard to find.  So… here it is again with an easy-to-find title.

Happy ice cream freezing!

Buttermilk Ice Cream

1 Cup Buttermilk

1 Cup Heavy Cream

1 Cup Whole Milk

1 Cup Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla

After mixing these ingredients and putting them in the ice cream freezer, do you use regular milk to fill the freezer to hte freeze line?

  2. Sandy says:

I make this amount in my Cuisinart Freezer. If I wanted to make the batch bigger in my regular freezer, I’d probably add a little more of all the liquids just to keep it rich and creamy. I’m sure that just adding milk would work just fine! I’m big on experimenting! =)

This is so delicious. I hope you’ll give it a try.

Yum! I made my first sorbet ever the other day…watermelon. Will post pictures soon. My kids loved it. Well, the youngest did after he got over his brain freeze…poor guy.
