Button Up

I have the answer.  It’s simple.  It solves just about everything… economic woes included.

People ask me from time to time how I stay so small.  I have decided to let you in on my secret.  I’m a cheapskate.  Oh… make that “frugal”… sounds better.

Love my blue jeans, and have several pairs.  When I find some that are actually long enough in my size, I buy them up.  Chances are they will discontinue them because I seem to have disproportionate body parts, and my size just isn’t worth their while.  (Hooray for Cabela’s… wonderful jeans, GREAT price!)

Anyway, back to the point.  Since I have this little pile of jeans that I’ve worked so hard to collect, I cannot let them go to waste.  With autumn upon us, it’s time to move back into blue jeans.  This will come as no surprise to you… I ate some fattening ice cream this summer.  Blue jeans are tight and a bit hard to button.

So, I launch back into my diet plan… semi-starvation until the jeans button easily.  That’s my trick.  Works every time.  Not about to order a new size.  Wouldn’t be prudent.

I like this about myself.  When things get tight, I’m able to put the brakes on.  Do you think they would listen if I called the White House?

Great analogy! I won’t hold my breath but you could give the call a try! You have what so many have lost…self-discipline. And maybe a little of it has to do with good genes as well. Semi-starvation doesn’t work for some people but we all just have to find what plan works for us. Maybe for the government a little MORE than semi-starvation is in order!

No doubt about it.. I’ve got “skinny genes”! But self-discipline is a big deal to me… in all areas… and I am concerned when I see anything spinning out of control. “Semi-starvation” would probably be good for all of us in all kinds of situations! =)

I’m thinking the White House is not listening to anyone right now.

    If only they would listen!
