Chocolate and Peanut Butter

I am a stubborn person.  Again readers… let me thank you for giving me all this time and space to make these confessions.  Continuing on.  I have these fetishes.  They make no sense, but there they are.  I’ll share this one with you.

I am not a big fan of the sweets.  So I like very dark chocolate, and I like nuts in my chocolate.  Gives a nice salty addition.  I like peanut butter.  But I just don’t like peanut butter and chocolate mixed.  I think I’ve had one Reese’s Piece in my life… and that was enough for me.  Now, I ask you… does this make sense?  No.  Not at all.

G and I won this beautiful box of chocolates at a Valentine’s party, and every two or three days I treat myself to another tasty morsel.  They’re Dove Truffles, and quite good!  Well, the other day “Little Brother” was over here at the barn.  If you don’t know… he’s a boy in poodle’s clothing.  I wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee and a chocolate, and there he was begging for a bite, and I couldn’t let him have chocolate, so I just had to pop the whole thing in my mouth and let it melt there.

Oh no.  Peanut butter center.  Wait.  Wait a minute.  What’s this?  Could it be?  Is this delicious?  Turns out, the answer is yes.  Delicious indeed.

One step at a time, I shall try to rid myself of all ridiculous notions as I go down the path of life. – for all the K-Cups under the sun!

Well, my goodness!!! I can’t believe it! First it was your mom discovering watermelon, and now you have discovered the most delicious combination to exist on earth!!! I was just looking at a recipe for peanut butter brownies. Maybe I’ll make them for you!!!

Great idea, Micah! In celebration of my new discovery and my confession… make me some brownies! =)
Now if I can convince everyone that Aunt Bill’s is better with pecans!

Sandy, I am not real fond of the two together, so I understand. However, chocolate is just GOOD.

I love this! Reminds me of the time I discovered there was nothing to hate about Vanilla Wafers like I always believed.

Glad to get your email reminders. This blog is a fun place to visit.

Ha! No telling what I’ll get into next! But… I will NEVER like the fruity filled centers in chocolate. I’m stating that here and now!

Micah – great idea for brownies. Maybe we could have a Monday morning coffee/brownie get together!

Ready to give Star Wars another shot?!? 😉

You just can’t get any better than fruit and chocolate! I’m not as crazy about the creamy centered fruity chocolates because they are very sweet, but a chocolate dipped strawberry is divine!! Your discovery of the love of peanut butter and chocolate makes me think maybe I should try PB&J again! Like you, I love peanut butter and I love jelly, but I really don’t care for them together!

  14. Sandy says:

Oh Katie! You crack me up!
I might stay awake through Star Wars while eating chocolate and peanut butter. I’m sure stranger things have happened!!

  15. Sandy says:

Yes… go for the PB&J and see how you come out! =)

I love how at our age we continue to discover things we like…..when we thought we wouldn’t. Love this story. Pass the peanut butter and dark chocolate please!

Grace, you’re so right. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Oops.. did I say “old”?? Not a chance!
