Ladies and Magenta Men

I find it utterly absurd that I am going to write about toenail polish.  But every time I look down there at my feet, I just have something to say about them… and apparently, you must be the recipient of my thoughts!

Well, seriously, it’s not really about the fancy bright pink color with the catchy little name.  It’s about me not wanting to go to work with the polish remover, and putting it off for as long as possible.  Today’s going to have to be the day.

As long as those bright little toenails are down there looking up at me, I’m reminded of a happy weekend.  A family reunion.  A group of women with plenty of concerns and stress in their lives setting it all aside for a morning of pedicures.  A celebration of a cousin turning 40, but something greater… our family celebrating her victory over breast cancer.  A weekend of laughter and singing and feasting.

I intend to remember that happy weekend always.  But it sure has been fun to have the bright toenails reminding me.  At least I’ve still got the fancy shoes.  It’s the little things.  Hold them close!

The little girls in the family stayed up into the wee hours of the morning making these fancy spa slippers for every female in the family. What a fun surprise for all of us that morning at breakfast!! Thanks again to those sweet girly-girls!

It was fun, especially the “tropical paradise” pedicure, never had that kind of treatment before

I was just looking at my hot pink glittery toe nails today and thinking, today is the day I take that off. Funny you would write about it. Wish I had a great memory attached to mine. I love the flip flops! Adorable.
