Less Is More?

Less is more.  I usually think so… and I think those who know me well would agree.  I don’t like lots of frou frou.  Don’t wear much make up, don’t wear much jewelry, don’t have lots of things hanging on the walls, like to stick to simple color themes, don’t like the gadgets, don’t have bells and whistles on my cars.

However!  When it comes to making these jewel boxes, that rule goes out the window.  More is more!  I just glue and glue, go the closet and find more jewels, add some more, find some ribbon, add more jewels.  Declare it finished, then go back to it and add more jewels.

So, that’s the rule.  More is more when it comes to jewel boxes and Christmas tree decorating!

I know how it looked when I would open up Grandma’s or Nana’s jewelry boxes… that tumbled and happy chaos of brooches, beads, and ear clips.  And that’s how my boxes must look to me. And until they give me that same wonderful feeling of opening those boxes and seeing that treasure, I glue and glue some more, find more jewels and add some more.

If I can get all the gadgetry figured out, I’ll be adding a page for the jewel boxes and other treats.  Keep an eye out for it, and please… push me along!  I’ll make boxes all day every day, but I’ll avoid learning a new computer trick ‘til the cows come home!

Loved making this box Saturday!

We’re all ready for spring time flowers, aren’t we?

I just love the bird, where did he come from?

That little bird has graced many a table. Holiday Happening, Spring Brunch, here at the barn. He was begging to sit on that box, so I had to let him!

Sandy~I have a brilliant idea: Come to San Angelo and we will work on figuring out the necessary computer tricks TOGETHER and…AND…AND!!!…spend some time in the antique shops downtown TOGETHER, too!!! Please, oh, please…OH,PLEASE!
You and I can play and John will cook breakfast, ignore us at lunch(so we can work, shop, and play), and either barbecue the dinner meal or take us to one of the fine local restaurants. You can rest in our guest room when it is absolutely necessary!
If you need Westwind House B&B references, we’ll see if we can dig up a few from past guests!

What a treat that would be… to finally meet my dear praying pen pal in person!
I’m held hostage to work right now.
But you’re right… time in some antique shops, and figuring out the gadgetry would be really wonderful.
Maybe someday. Thank you so much for the wonderful invitation! You are so kind!!! Thank you!
