Not My Home

When a junior high boy is told he cannot wear his rosary beads to school in Colorado because they are disruptive…

When a school choir makes advance plans to sing “God Bless America” in a huge American chain store in Florida, but the young students are told to leave, and the police are called…

When my home town makes the national news because the youth sports league has banned coaches from praying

When I compare photos of my precious great-nieces enjoying a tiny tea party to those of a very little boy holding a sign calling for beheadings

When I ponder these things, my heart begins to sing the old, familiar, and comforting words…

This world is not my home, I’m just a-passing through.  My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

Heaven help us while we’re down here.

AMEN! THANK YOU FOR THESE COMFORTING WORDS:THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME, I’M JUST A-PASSING THROUGH. MY TREASURES ARE LAID UP SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE BLUE. IN THE MEANTIME, GOD EXPECTS US TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AND LIFT ONE ANOTHER UP AND I JUST WANT YOU AND YOUR AUNT, SHARON, TO KNOW THAT WE APPRECIATE THE PUBLIC FIGHT AGAINST THESE INJUSTICES AND IT IS OUR DAILY PRAYER THAT GOD WILL HEAR AND HONOR JUST ONE PRAYER BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE AND OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY FALLS. TOO MUCH HAS GONE INTO MAKING AND TRYING TO KEEP AMERICA FREE. HELP US DEAR GOD!

Seemed like the devil was trying to have a romp on the 11th, didn’t it? Has been a trying and exasperating week. I’ve calmed myself by thinking of my grandmother singing “Amazing Grace” while cooking. Another good post, Sandy. Thank you.
