Oh February!

What a darling little month.  You’re just nestled in there between the cold days of January, and those windy days of March… and you seem like a fine respite to me.  You house the nonsensical Groundhog Day.  How in the Sam Hill that ever became such an all important day is just too much fun to ponder!  And obviously, you have that sweet heart-shaped day right in the middle of your page.

I really adore you, February.  And I’m glad you’ve arrived.  I made a cute little cherry pie jewel box in your honor.

What a perfect description of February! And another beautiful jewel box! I can’t tell you how much these make me smile! They are just SO beautiful.

Thank you, Pam. I get so frustrated trying to capture them with my camera. I think there are just so many little things to focus on, and my camera is doing everything possible to make it happen, and I’m not smart enough to get all the bells and whistles in the proper places.

Wish I could show them to everyone in real life… because they really make me smile too!

Love your cherry pie box. I just can’t quit looking at it. There is so much there and the red beads take your eye all over the box. Love it. It may be my favorite one, but maybe it is the red, ’cause that’s my favorite color.

  4. Sandy says:

Oh! Thank you!! So glad you like it.

What a pretty box! I enlarged the photo to fill the whole screen and had fun looking at each piece!

  6. Sandy says:

Thanks, Kim. Yes! That’s the best way to look at it. On my computer I have to click the photo once, which gets me to a page with just the photo… but then if I click it again, it fills the whole space.

These pieces are mainly garage sale finds… but one of the cherry brooches belonged to our beloved Aunt Dude. I’ve been wanting it to be the focal point of a box for a long time.

Aunt Dude would love this! Can see her now in her red pant suit. You have brightened everyone’s day with this gorgeous box!

  8. Sandy says:

Oh… thanks! Yes… Aunt Dude in a red pant suit. I see her too!

Thank you for telling me how to look at it! Before enlarging I didn’t even realize so many pins were insects! What stood out when it was small was how much I liked the touches of green. How fun to look at it enlarged. I’m not a big Valentine’s Day person but for some reason I LOVE February. Maybe because it’s the last month we have around here when it is fairly certain I won’t have to turn the a/c on. Hope saying that doesn’t bring us a warm spell!:)
