One Stop Travel

I have this mug.  Oh my goodness!  I don’t even know where to begin when thinking of all the emotions and adventures tied up in this little ceramic vessel.

Although we had already discovered just how much we loved traveling, this agency opened up so much of the world to us.  The internet didn’t exist.  Loli Chang knew everything about Asia, as far as we were concerned, and she was our gateway to that world.  Always so excited when we were ready for a vacation, and it was time to make our way to her office!

Times have changed.  We’re our own agent now.  The world is at our fingertips, and we can maneuver around the pages looking for the best flights… and what to do when we arrive.   We find our own cruises and locate outfitters.

I feel I’ve had the best of both worlds.  I’ve experienced that old-fashioned delight of making an appointment with my travel agent, and I now have the luxury of sitting across the office from my G while he dreams up trip after trip and charts our course.

The mug never gets used.  It sits right there on a shelf at his desk… right beside the Starbucks world globe mug.  Nice little assortment for my personal planner, don’t you think?

And there on the left is his old favorite mug from China. The first one was green, and it broke one day when it fell out of his truck. I had to find a replacement, and “China Arts” was out of green.

We do love our coffee cups!

The one on the far right sports a lovely painting of a man out fishing in a little boat. Yep.. saw that one and had to get it for him. Now his island mugs sit there on a shelf at his desk to give him nice day dreams!
