One of our nieces guessed that we would make a skunk this year for the ornament.  Ha!  Kind of wish I had thought of that!  After all, the skunk story was one of the first things on my blog… and this blog has been such a fun part of my year!  (Here’s the silly story of the skunk… Surprise Visitor.)

But the shape turned out to be a different furry black and white creature.  Earlier this year we were all set to hike to a penguin colony in the Falkland Islands.  That morning the captain of our ship apologetically informed us that we wouldn’t be able to stop at the Falkland Islands because the fog was way too dense and the seas were way too high.

Well, you know what this means!  I had to make my own little penguin colony AND I need another trip down to South America.  (We do click around on the itineraries and dream from time to time.  I’d love to take that very same cruise again some day.  It was just the best time!  I hope you’ll consider clicking over to Cruise Direct if you decide to do some cruise dreaming.)

Adorable!! That is a whole lot of work. What a fun tradition! I’m sure everyone loves seeing your newest creation. I could almost be inspired to copy if I had artistic abilities. 🙂

I would never have guessed “penguins”. But, it was fun wondering what you were making. They are pretty cute.

Love the little guy. I was wondering what made you decide to make penguins. I always like hearing the inspirations.

Thank you! Thank you! We were all trying to guess what it was before we ripped it open, and PENGUINS!
Ariana and I just happened to be wearing our penguin earrings at the time of opening. We are so appreciative to be part of this tradition
    Love you so!
