Two Hundred Minus One

I forgot all about it because I was plumb tuckered out.  I was having a great streak.  At least one mile a day, every single day, come rain, ice, wind or shine.  And then one day in July I was apparently exhausted, and I crawled into bed without giving it another thought.

Today is the 200th day of 2011.  I can’t say that I’ve walked a mile every day, but I can say I’ve walked at least a mile every day except for the 4th of July.  I love the mile, especially in the evening when the breeze is cool, my day is winding down, and it’s time to mentally relax.

I beat myself up a little bit on the 5th of July when I woke up and realized I’d forgotten to go for my walk the day before.  But it didn’t stop me from carrying on.

Do you need to get back on that horse?  Do you have a path before you that needs to be walked?  It may be uphill, but there will always be some roses to smell along the way.  Did you set a goal, but are finding it hard to reach?

I encourage you to stay the course.    To borrow from Paul, my favorite writer, I hope we’ll all forget what lies behind and press on to our goals… be they simple health goals or lofty spiritual ones.  The prize is waiting!

Thanks for the encouragement! Can’t wait to get back on the horse. We’ll see what the dr has to say today. May have to do a little physical therapy first, but I’m determined to get there.

We all have our little mountains to climb and our little crosses to bear, but we can be sure of one thing, we are not alone………..
I say little because mine seem so little compared to some.
