Where Should We Go?

Oh my!  The incredible traditions we have in the United States!

Earlier this year I was remembering a photo I’d seen of Ronald and Nancy at an Inaugural Ball, and I was thinking of how dream-like it would have been to attend such an event.  And then my mind was off and running, thinking of all the amazing events we have in our nation.  And just like the grand variety found in our citizenry, there’s an endless list of special occasions we’d love to be a part of.

I conducted a little survey over on the Facebook page on Super Bowl Sunday, giving my readers the choice of an Inauguration Ball, the Super Bowl, Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, or the Kentucky Derby.  Guess what?  The Kentucky Derby won by two lengths!

What fun for us all.  We have sporting events, state fairs, patriotic celebrations… the list goes on.  From that famous New Year’s party on Times Square to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, we are treated to one magnificent affair after another.

Hmmmm… if I really could choose something spectacular to go to this year, I wonder which one it would be!  Where would you go?  Leave a comment.  America and beyond… the sky’s the limit!

So many choices! Besides wanting to attend an inaugural ball, this pops into my mind. Something I’ve always wanted to be a part of is “Dickens on the Strand” in Galveston. =)

I missed your Super Bowl quiz, but I would have voted for Kentucky Derby, too, and for a new one…oh, gee, there are so many, but if time, money and lack of physical ability didn’t count, it would be Mount Everest.

  20. Sandy says:

Yes, indeed! Climb every mountain! I hope to see that one before I die. (Don’t want to be on top… just want to gaze up at it!)

  21. Nico says:

How about the trifecta: Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown?

  22. Sandy says:

Oh yes!! Sounds perfect, Nico. I really want to go to Jamestown. And I would really LOVE to see Williamsburg at Christmas Time.
